Jamba Juice

The Situation
Master Tea Blender Shane Talbott formed a partnership with Kevin O’Leary for his company Talbott Teas on the third season of business reality show Shark Tank. Once the deal was completed, Kevin realized he was in need of a distributer that would help Talbott Teas expand while preserving the spirit of the brand.

The Shark Group Approach
Daymond John knew that the nationally recognized juice franchise Jamba Juice was looking to acquire specialty lifestyle companies that are compatible with the Jamba brand. After discussing the business with friend and Jamba Juice CEO James White, the two moguls decided that Jamba Juice would be a great home for Talbott Teas.

The Results

  • With the help of The Shark Group, Jamba Juice acquired Talbott Teas and is using the brand to help position Jamba as a leader in the health and wellness market.
  • The Shark Group secured distribution for Talbott Teas while allowing it to keep its brand identity. In addition, Shane Talbott was hired by Jamba Juice as its Vice President of Innovation.
  • As a result of the deal, Talbott Teas will be sold at Jamba Juice’s 750 locations, both as brewed beverages and packaged products, starting in the fall.
  • Talbott Teas was acquired for an undisclosed amount.
